Memorial service for the 121 dead of the "Sun" tragedy in Paralimni

The hope that the negligence of the system that led to the air tragedy of "Helios" and which cost the lives of 121 of our fellow human beings, will become a lesson for us, was expressed today by the Minister of Energy, Industry and Tourism George Lakkotrypis.

In his statements at the Paralimni cemetery after the trisagion that was performed on the graves of the victims of the air tragedy, the Minister of Energy stated that "today we mentioned the victims of the air tragedy of Grammatikos, 121 people, whom we lost 10 years ago so unjustly including 22 minor children ".

He added that Paralimni "mourns 12 of its children and this tragedy, which constantly shakes us, I hope will teach us a lesson about how a whole system failed, and the negligence of an entire system that led to this untold tragedy."

The memorial service for the dead from Paralimni who went missing in the plane crash of the company "Helios" in Grammatiko on August 12, 2005, was held this morning at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Georgios.
