THOK COMPETITION

The Opera of Pentara
Directed by: Stefanos Kotsikos

"Stealing a bank is a lesser crime than setting it up," says Mac the knife-wielding man shortly before he was killed.

The musical work of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weil takes us where the corrupt political power, in the person of the police chief, is entangled in a dark game with the world of beggars, thugs and mafia. Conspiracies and plots are carried out unhindered, since the acquired police force insists on turning a blind eye.

Criminal corruption at all levels of bourgeois society, deafening to this day, is strongly highlighted through the modern look of the director Stefanos Kotsikos in a classic and completely revolutionary work.
