The institution is organized for the eleventh consecutive year by Time Out magazine, the first entertainment and entertainment guide in Cyprus, in order to upgrade the quality of domestic gastronomy, but also to reward all the remarkable efforts in the field of catering. The Time Out Eating Awards is an international institution and is organized by almost all Time Outs around the world.

The glamorous award ceremony will take place tonight, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Royal Hall in Nicosia, presented by the unique George Kapoutzidis!

Sotira counts two nominations for this year's awards, as both the Musician Tavern and the Fishbone restaurant of the Sunrise Hotel are candidates, with executive chef Antonis Attounis from Sotira.

The menu of the evening will be edited for the guests by the youngest chef who has ever been awarded a Michelin star in Greece, Nikos Karathanos, in collaboration with the other chefs of the Cookoovaya restaurant: Spyros and Vangelis Liakos, Periklis Koskinas and Manos Zournatzis.

This year the categories are 10 and are as follows: New Arrival (restaurants opened from April 2014 to April 2015), Fish, International Cuisine, Hotel Restaurant (ie operating within a hotel unit and excluded from other categories), Café / Bar / Restaurant, Tavern, Souvlaki, Nice Price and the new additions that are the Creative Cuisine, to reward those chefs who offer imaginative recipes as well as the Best Beer Place by KEO beer, a category that stands out the place where you can combine successfully the right dish for your beer. As every year, this year the restaurant that will collect the most votes from the readers of Time Out will be awarded as "The favorite of the readers" and is independent of categorization. Every restaurant in each category to be a candidate must ensure high quality and achieve continuous improvement of its services. With criteria of food quality, presentation of dishes, hygiene, atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant, flow of dishes, proper service, wine list and the ratio of product and price becomes the final choice of restaurants in each category.

The candidate restaurants are 69 and were selected by a multi-member special committee convened by Time Out, which consisted of connoisseurs of gastronomy specializing in catering.

As the institution evolves year after year, this year, in addition to the Honorary Awards for the New Year Chef, the Cypriot Product and the Best Cava, an additional commendation of Ecological Action will be awarded to the restaurant that successfully followed Green Dot's recycling programs. .

Readers of Time Out magazine had the opportunity to participate in the promotion of the best restaurants in Cyprus, voting for their favorite restaurants for 3 months (July - September 2015). A total of 42,682 votes were cast for the magazine's readers, an impressive number of entries that show the love of the people for this institution!

The counting of votes took place with the validity of the University of Nicosia.
