On the afternoon of Saturday, March 24, the Candlelight vigil was held by the Catholic Church of the Savior.
Yesterday Sunday, the celebrations began with Eothinos by the children of the Catholic schools and were followed by the Festive Doxology at the Church of the Resurrection in Sotira. The Festival was delivered by Mr. George Varnava, MP of EDEK Famagusta.
At 10:15, Trisagio followed and laid wreaths at the Monument of the Fallen and Missing of the Savior.
The celebrations ended with the parade in which participated all the Public Educational Institutions of Sotira, the Catechism Meetings with two bands and the Sotiras Resident Battalion. Veteran Football Players of the Municipality of Rethymno also paraded, who were invited to Sotira for a friendly match with the Veteran Football Players of Onisilos Sotiras.
