The evening concert of the choir day of the music schools of Cyprus, organized for the 5th consecutive year by the Directorate of Secondary Education and the Pedagogical Institute, took place with great success last Friday at the Municipal Theater of Strovolos.
The Choir Conference was entitled "A day full of music, a day sown with magic". And really those who attended the evening concert felt enchanted by the talent of the children and the praiseworthy work of the teachers - conductors but also the high level of music education provided in the music schools of Cyprus.
The result was beyond the expectations of everyone, even the organizers. The 425 children as a close-knit group that aimed to promote music and only proved that unity and cooperation work wonders.
Among them is the Famagusta Music School which once again left the best impressions for the very good work done by teachers and students.
The common song that was presented as the amazing result of the work of the Conference moved not only those who attended the concert but also the entire internet as our video was shared by dozens of people and was seen by thousands of social media users.
The action Choir Day has become an annual institution that is expected by the Music Teachers and the music-loving public of the place.
The goals set by the Ministry of Culture for this action is the training of Music Teachers / three in subjects related to choral singing, as part of their teaching and extracurricular work, which is described through the Indicators of Success and Adequacy in Song, and the development of synergies between formal education, municipalities and communities of the place, as one of the emphases of the Curriculum of Music ("opening of education in the community") and the Ministry of Culture.
The Conference is addressed to those Music Teachers who wish and in the Choirs of Music Gymnasiums and Music Lyceums. This event included evening workshops and an evening concert in which the amazing result of the work of the Conference was presented through a common song by all participants and a separate presentation of the choir of each Music School with two songs, of any style and genre, which they have already prepared. .
