The Famagusta Police arrested a 56-year-old tourist yesterday afternoon, in connection with an investigated case of theft and illegal possession of property.

Specifically, a 41-year-old permanent resident of the province of Famagusta, reported yesterday to the Paralimni Police Station that around 5.00 pm, yesterday, her wallet was stolen from her car, which contained a sum of money in EURO banknotes, four bank credits, various personal documents, as well as 70 Turkish pounds.

The car of the 41-year-old at the time of the theft was parked, but unlocked in a supermarket parking lot in the Municipality of Famagusta province.

The examinations provided evidence regarding a suspicious car, which was searched and found by members of the Paralimni Police Station around 5.50 pm, on the same day, being parked outside a credit institution in the province of Famagusta.

Then, when the responsible driver of the car approached his car on foot, the members of the Police stopped him for a check. It was found that this is a 56-year-old tourist, in whose possession the wallet, the identity card, the four bank credit cards and various documents of the 41-year-old were found, which had been stolen a little earlier. The members of the Police also found in the possession of the 56-year-old 70 Turkish pounds, various sums of money in foreign currency of EURO, of the US Dollar. and the Mexican Peso, as well as a key.

The members of the Police arrested the 56-year-old around 6.00 pm, yesterday, for the spontaneous crime of illegal possession of property and he was taken into custody to facilitate the investigations.
