The percentage of businesses that use social media and mobile broadband increased to 60% in 2015, according to the results of the annual survey "Use of Information and Communication Technologies and E-Commerce in Business 2015" announced on Wednesday by the Statistical Service.

The survey covered 1.788 companies employing at least 10 people in specific categories of economic activity. The data collection was done through personal interviews and the coverage was nationwide. The reference period was 2015.

Specifically, according to the main results of the survey, three out of four companies (75,4% of companies with internet access) have a website, while in 2015 there is an increase in the percentage of companies that use social media (eg Facebook , Twitter, YouTube, etc.), reaching 59,8% compared to 53,7% in 2014.

Also, the percentage of businesses that use mobile broadband internet increased to 60,3% in 2015 compared to 58,3% in 2014.

In addition, according to the survey results, the percentage of companies with data transfer speeds between 10Mbit / s and 30Mbit / s (26,4%) increased compared to 2014 (22,3%). The maximum data transfer speed offered is between 2Mbit / s and 10Mbit / s for the majority of Internet businesses (65,3%), based on contracts with ISPs.

27,2% of the companies that have computers, employ specialized personnel of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), while 39% of the companies that use computers have a defined policy regarding the security of ICT. This percentage reaches 79,3% for large companies.

Also, 13,6% of businesses that used the Internet bought cloud computing services. Larger use is made in large companies (32,8%), followed by medium with 17,7% and small with 12,5%.

E-commerce

In terms of E-Commerce, the percentage of companies that received orders was 11,4% in 2015 compared to 11,9% in 2014, while the percentage of companies that placed orders increased to 23% from 15,1% in 2014 ( percentage of businesses using computers).
