Madame Figaro for the seventh consecutive year, organizes the institution "Women of the YearPresented by Marfin Laiki Bank's Woman's Card. The purpose of the institution is to highlight and reward the Cypriot women, who distinguished and excelled in 2011 all those who offered and deserve our love and support… Like every year, this year Madame Figaro, the first women's magazine in Cyprus, with the help of a special committee set up exclusively for this purpose, came up with the final five candidates for each category and proposes the Women of the Year 2011 that it presents the Woman's Card of Marfin Laiki Bank. 45 nominated Women of the Year for 2011 in 9 categories! Performers, actors, fashion designers, media persons, athletes, creators, scientists / academics, businessmen / executives and women who offer to man and society as a whole. All these women have worked hard in their field, they have been distinguished and now it is our turn to recognize them and reward them through this institution.
In the November, December and January issues of Madame Figaro, the 45 candidates were presented with a CV for each of them, while special emphasis was placed on their activities during the year 2011. The reading public was invited to vote to highlight its women. year for 2011.
The only and absolute judges throughout the process for the nomination of women of the year were the readers of Madame Figaro magazine. Specifically, 15,901 readers voted and nominated the WOMEN OF THE YEAR 2011, the first among equals!
The glamorous award ceremony for Madame Figaro Women of the year 2011 presented by the Woman's Card of Marfin Laiki Bank will take place on Tuesday, March 20 at the Municipal Theater of Strovolos at 8:00 pm. The evening is foretold full of surprises, glow and smile.
Presenters of the evening will be Katerina Papoutsaki together with Michalis Marinos, Iosif Marinakis and George Kapoutzidis.
This night, as every year, will be charitable since all proceeds from ticket sales will be given that night to the charity chosen by the Woman of the Year who will be awarded in the Social Offer category.
Last year from the sale of tickets € 17,838 given to Mrs. Eleni Theocharous, awarded in the Social Offer Category. Mrs. Eleni Theocharous chose to allocate the amount of € 13.000 to the families of the victims of the naval base Evangelos Florakis (in Mari), while the remaining amount will be allocated to the Cyprus Association for Family Planning and the Association of Prisoners.
The pre-sale of tickets starts on February 28, 2012.
