The example of the Archdiocese that proceeds to the sale of real estate to pay off the debts of the Church to the banks, will follow, according to His Beatitude, all the Dioceses and all the monasteries.

"The areas proposed by the Church are located in the provinces of Limassol, Famagusta and Nicosia, but the banks want the areas located near the sea, in Limassol," said the Archbishop.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 10th annual memorial service for the victims of the "Sun" air tragedy, he said that the Church's goal is to pay off, in order to continue its work uninterrupted.

"We are determined to sell some property, to pay off and to remain undisturbed in the investments that the church must make, in order to have money for its work, but also to give jobs to the world," said Archbishop Chrysostomos.

Referring to the huge investment of billions in Geroskipou, His Beatitude said that it has not sunk, but there are legal issues.

The government, he said, would have to ratify one of the seven applications by September.

"The church has already given the Hungarian 40 stairs and a building factor of 50 stairs, but that is not enough, a factor must be transferred there from the government area, so that the Hungarian can build 5 towers," he noted.

He expressed the hope that the project would soon take on flesh and blood.

His Beatitude said that the Church has a large property estate, which can meet its needs, for many decades.
