CTO: The countryside to be a dynamic part of the tourism product

The promotion of the Cypriot countryside as a dynamic part of the identity of Cyprus as an alternative and quality tourist destination is the ultimate goal, said the Deputy General Director of CTO Annita Dimitriadou, speaking at the General Assembly of the Cyprus Agrotourism Company.

The General Assembly was recently successfully held, according to an announcement, in the village of Fasoula in the province of Limassol, with the participation of a large number of owners and managers of licensed agritourism accommodation from all provinces of Cyprus.

The Cyprus Agritourism Company currently has 79 members representing 81 traditional units of apartments, houses and small hotels in the countryside and is a very good example of cooperation between the private and public sector, with the CTO constantly supporting its actions since its inception , as indicated.

The President of the Company and Deputy General Director of CTO Annita Dimitriadou said that "our common vision is to give the Cypriot countryside the place it deserves and to become its best ambassadors for foreign visitors."

The main goals of the Agrotourism Company are the promotion of accommodation and activities offered in the countryside, both in Cyprus and abroad. In addition, emphasis is placed on improving the quality and upgrading of the tourist experience in combination with authenticity and contact with people and the environment.

Within the framework of the Assembly, Ms. Demitriadou gave an overview of the Company's Project for 2014 and 2015 with special emphasis on the action plan for promotion actions. Specifically, he mentioned, among other things, the creation of a new upgraded website and the promotion of the creation of a new revised guide to agritourism accommodation.

The company also conducted an e-marketing campaign in targeted market segments such as walkers, nature lovers, cyclists, etc. the CTO etc.

Ms. Dimitriadou stressed that the ultimate goal is, through synergies and targeted actions and always in collaboration with competent bodies and services of the private and public sector, to make the countryside a dynamic part of the identity of Cyprus as an alternative and quality tourist destination.
