A foreigner, probably of Russian descent, was found dead this morning on the porch of a restaurant veranda in Ayia Napa.
As the spokesperson of the Famagusta Police Department, Andreas Konstantinou, stated to KYPE, "around six this morning, a restaurant cleaner located on Agia Napa Avenue in Agia Napa, located a foreign man, sitting in a locked chair on the veranda of the restaurant. ».
He added that "when the woman (cleaner) went to open the entrance of the restaurant, she found the man lying on the ground. He immediately notified the Police and members of TAE Famagusta went to the scene which they blocked and investigations began. From the first examinations that were carried out, it was found that the corpse does not have external injuries, the possibility of criminal action was ruled out and the causes of death of the foreigner are attributed to pathological causes ".
According to Mr. Konstantinou, "Police are continuing their investigation to determine the identity of the deceased, who appears to be of Russian origin."
The exact causes of death of the foreigner will be determined during the legal autopsy that will be performed in due course.
