Damage of tens of thousands of euros was caused to livestock farms in Avgorou after attacks by stray dogs that killed and injured a large number of sheep.

Specifically, according to an announcement by the Famagusta Police Department, it was reported on Wednesday, January 11, at the Xylofagou Police Station by a cattle breeder from Avgorou that during Tuesday night, an unknown number of stray dogs and 13 prey dogs entered his livestock unit. and injured a number of others. Their value is estimated at 5-6 thousand euros.

It was also reported on Friday night, January 13, at the Xylofagou Police Station by a second cattle breeder from Avgorou that on Thursday night, an unknown number of stray dogs entered his livestock unit in Avgorou, killing 13 sheep and injuring others.

The two premises were visited by members of the Xylofagos Police Station and the T.A.E. Famagusta of the Community Police of Famagusta and by competent officials of the Veterinary Services of Famagusta and the Department of Agriculture.

According to the Police, the actions were coordinated with the local authorities, by sending an SMS message from the members of the Community Asynchrony to inform the Observers of the Avgorou Neighborhood for taking appropriate measures, vigilance and providing information to the Authorities.
