It is known that on certain beaches only their owners will be able to bathe their pets according to a relevant announcement of the CTO, which were determined based on the provisions of the Law on the Protection of the Beach, as areas for dog bathing.
As of now, one more has been added to the list of these beaches. According to the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus, the Central Committee of Beaches, at its Meeting on June 16, designated Glyki Nero beach in the area of Kappari in Paralimni, as an area for dog bathing.
According to the Chairman of the Central Beaches Committee, Loizo Loizou, Glyki Nero beach is currently the only beach for dogs in the Province of Famagusta, as the first is no longer accessible, due to the works of the new Marina of Ayia Napa.
What are dog beaches?
We remind you that the other beaches that are included in the list of legal beaches for dogs this year are the following:
1. The beach at Steratzia, within the boundaries of the Community Council of Kato Pyrgos, Nicosia District.
2. The beach at the location Kasianes (Spyros Beach) south of Larnaca airport, within the municipal boundaries of Larnaca, Larnaca District.
3. The beach northwest of Paphos airport, at the mouth of the river Ezousa, within the boundaries of the Community Council of Achilles, Paphos District.
4. The beach in the area of Pitili, east of the mouth of the river Platania, within the boundaries of the Community Council of Neos Chorio, Paphos District.
5. The beach at the location of Karavopetra, southeast of the wastewater treatment plant of S.AL.A., within the boundaries of the Community Council of Monagroulli, Limassol District.
6. The beach at Prolimnos, west of Pissouri, within the boundaries of the Community Council of Pissouri, Limassol District.
