The beaches of Ayia Napa were flooded with people during the holidays.
With this year's Christmas being one of the hottest in recent years, locals and tourists alike didn't miss the opportunity to take a dip at the beaches.
Instead of taking to the mountains as is customary these days, many ran to the nearest beaches for a walk, a swim and a sunbath.
Specifically residents said that "we often come to the beach, we chose not to go to the mountain villages because there is sun and good weather". While some others said they come every day since they are winter swimmers.
Others said that "we are from Sweden, we come to Cyprus every summer because of the good weather, so this year we decided to spend Christmas in Cyprus, specifically on the beach".
Typical are the images with several people choosing the beaches in the middle of summer.
