In a statement after the maps were submitted in Geneva, the government spokesman said that "the maps are within the framework agreed in Mont Pelerin, ie 28,2% up to 29,2%".

He pointed out that this is the first time in the history of negotiations that this exchange of maps takes place. As he said, the Greek Cypriot side considers the submission of maps as a very positive development.

At the same time, however, he added, from the study carried out on the map submitted by the Turkish Cypriot side, it was first examined whether it corresponds to the data, ie 29,2%. At the same time, there are provisions and aspects of the map that do not satisfy us, he said, while he continued by saying "it is not satisfactory as a final result, and the disagreements have been submitted by the President of the Republic and even in writing."

Asked about the case of Morphou, he said that "I will not comment, I will not go into details and more specifically, if you want, in the content of the written comments of the President of the Republic, which comments are very specific on the map of the Turkish Cypriot side."

Asked if he was a basis for the follow-up, he said: "It is important, I repeat, that this is essentially the first time since 1976 that we have had such a development. It is positive that it is in line with what has been agreed in Mont Pelerin. Beyond that is not the end of the road. It is the beginning of a, if you will, negotiation in a very important chapter of the Cyprus problem ".

Asked if there is a big difference in terms of the population that is proposed to return, he said that "I repeat, I will not enter into specific comments on the map, beyond the criterion that has been agreed and is known to all. I repeat that our first comments immediately after the examination by the cartographer accompanying the President of the Republic, have been submitted in writing ".

Asked if they will proceed to the Conference on Cyprus, the Spokesman said that "once the criterion that was agreed has been met, of course we are moving forward to start the Geneva Conference tomorrow. From there on, you realize that the territorial one will continue like all the other chapters that concern the internal aspects of the Cyprus problem. Their negotiation will continue ".

Asked if Mr. Akindzi had given a text with disagreements on the map submitted by President Anastasiadis, he said that "from what I know, no written comments were submitted by Mr. Akindzi, but I repeat, from what I know."

Asked if the negotiations in Geneva would continue, he said "no, the negotiations will be completed soon. In parallel with the meeting of the two leaders, there were two other meetings: Meeting of the negotiators on issues of effective participation of the Turkish Cypriots in the government, a dialogue, which will be continued by the negotiators. I repeat not tomorrow. Tomorrow is exclusively for Security and Warranty issues. At the same time, there was another debate at the level of experts on EU issues. All these issues, I repeat, are related to internal aspects. The dialogue will continue, not tomorrow. " He added that the maps have been reserved by the United Nations.

Asked, the spokesman said that "no other meeting is scheduled to discuss internal issues related to the internal aspect of the Cyprus problem. I repeat, tomorrow is an important day for the Cyprus issue and we are focusing on tomorrow's Conference ".

Asked when an effort will be made to improve positions on aspects that do not satisfy you, he said that "when the two leaders agree to resume dialogue on issues related to the internal aspects of the Cyprus problem, including the Property and the Territorial. "There has been no discussion about how the dialogue will proceed."

Asked if the limit is 29,2% or less, he said that "the submitted maps are within the agreed limit".

In another question, he said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Nikos Kotzias, has arrived in Switzerland and has already contacted the Greek Cypriot side and that he will have a meeting with the President of the Republic tonight.

Asked about tomorrow's conference, he said: "We are talking about a multilateral conference, in which the EU will also be a stakeholder. It is not a party as you all know in the Guarantee Treaty, but the EU will be present, in fact it will be represented at the highest level by the President of the Commission. And if you want, the EU has an obligation to be present under Article 42, Paragraph 7 of the relevant EU Treaty ".
