The confrontation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Auditor General on the issue of OEDA Kosi is growing.

The difference of opinion between the two remains, a fact that was confirmed at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Audit Committee.

On the one hand, Socrates Hasikos argues that the amendment of the contract with the contractor OEDA Kosis is legal and raises an institutional issue for the Auditor General, arguing that Odysseas Michailidis acted outside the scope of his responsibilities.

On the other hand, Odysseas Michailidis, citing the relevant opinion of the Attorney General, once again expressed doubts about the legality of the amendment of the agreement with the contractor and rejects Hasikos' claims that he is acting beyond the powers provided by the constitution.

For their part, the affected Municipalities (Larnaca and Eleftheris Famagusta mainly) were in favor of the implementation of the Hasikos agreement and stated that in case the reduced fees for garbage do not apply from November 1, they will take drastic measures.
