He then releases the gas in portions into his nose, sniffing the contents.
According to testimonies of businessmen of the night, after a few sniffs, the mysterious gas begins to have obvious effects on the person who inhales it. That is, "they become joking and seem to be behaving normally," say businessmen.
However, the unknown gas seems to make users happy. Its buyers are mainly young tourists. According to some businessmen, British tourists show that they know the specific preparation from their homeland.
The same businessmen express questions and doubts about this particular preparation, pointing out that inspections should have been carried out by competent services in order to establish that it is an innocent preparation. They also told us that whatever the specific ampoules contain, they are sought after and every night in Ayia Napa they are widely consumed by young people, mainly tourists.
Police spokesman Andreas Angelidis said police were aware of the matter and were monitoring it, adding that these were ampoules that had been sent to the government chemist for tests in the past.
He said that according to the government chemist, these ampoules do not contain drugs.
