In the written announcement, Mr. Karousos states that his goal "is the continuation of good administration and the development of Ayia Napa in all its sectors. The admittedly remarkable work that we have achieved in the last 3.5 years, which will be published very soon, was the result of dynamic claims but also a collective effort with the support and cooperation of all, City Council, leaders, staff and of course the citizens of Ayia Napa ".
Ayia Napa as an urban center now, the announcement continues, "is considered one of the most tidy and sustainable Municipalities of Cyprus, has significant financial surpluses, while having important infrastructure projects underway. In addition, with dynamic demands and the right strategy, we have succeeded and the importance of Ayia Napa is now recognized by the decision-making centers ".
Mr. Karousos also states that in his current term he functioned "as an independent Mayor, with impartiality, integrity and justice, defending the public interest, without committing to any political space, because my goal was and is the continuous development and progress of the Municipality ", something I assure you that I will continue in my next term".
The announcement also states that he has "already informed in writing all the parliamentary parties asking for the support of his Independent candidacy".

I would like to announce my decision to claim my re-election as Independent Mayor of Ayia Napa in the upcoming municipal elections.
My goal is to continue the good administration and development of Ayia Napa in all areas.
The admittedly remarkable work that we have achieved in the last 3.5 years and that will be published very soon, was the result of dynamic claims but also a collective effort with the support and cooperation of all, municipal council, superiors and staff and of course, you, our citizens.
