Ayia Napa has been flooded with thousands of tourists since the beginning of May and as expected, the thefts have begun. Specifically in two cases last night there were two thefts in different cases with booty up to 67.000 euros.

They stole them inside the club

Branded women's handbags, a mobile phone and a sum of 100 euros, belonging to two tourists from Russia, were stolen by strangers from the nightclub bar in Ayia Napa.

According to the Police, two tourists from Russia, aged 33 and 32, reported that around 02:00 yesterday at dawn they went to a nightclub in Ayia Napa and placed their bags in the club bar.

The women complained to the Police that between the hours of 02:00 - 03:30 they were at the entertainment center, strangers stole their bags. One bag, worth 6 thousand euros, contained the amount of 100 euros in cash and various cosmetics of insignificant monetary value.

The second bag, which was also branded worth 300 euros, contained a mobile phone worth 600 euros and various cosmetics of negligible value.

The value of the stolen according to the complainants amounts to about seven thousand euros.

Theft is not covered by theft insurance. The Police received the closed monitoring circuits of the night club for further examinations.

"Bukaran" in the hotel room and scraped items worth 67.000 euros

A men's watch with a ring, a laptop and other items worth more than 67 thousand euros were stolen from the apartment of an Austrian businessman in Ayia Napa, while he was sleeping in the bedroom with his wife.

According to the Police, it was reported yesterday by a businessman from Austria that between the hours of 04:15 - 07:00, various personal belongings were stolen from the apartment of a hotel complex where he lives in Ayia Napa.

He alleges that a Rolex men's wristwatch, made of limited edition platinum with a brown ring, worth 65 thousand euros, a black leather computer carrying briefcase worth 200 euros, a laptop computer worth one thousand euros, a Mont black worth 500 euros, a gold pen with the company logo of the complaining black worth 200 euros and the sum of 150 euros in cash.

The total value of all the stolen items amounts to 67,050 euros.

Men from the Ayia Napa Police Station went to the scene, however, according to the Police, the scene was not suitable for scientific examinations after it had been cleaned by the hotel staff before the arrival of the members of the Force. The police conducted a fingerprint test with a negative result.

According to the complaint, at the time of the theft, the businessman was sleeping with his wife in the bedroom of the apartment where they were staying.
