The focus of today's session was the new Rural Development Program 2014-2020 and the future of the institution of agricultural insurance.
Regarding the Rural Development Program, during the session, its finalization for the previous period 2007-2013 was underlined, which was completed in December 2015 with full absorption of Community Resources. Regarding the new Program for the period 2014-2020, it was suggested that the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment has already prepared a detailed schedule of calls for measures, while the Ministry intends to announce all measures gradually in 2016, with first priority investment measures that are expected to be announced in March 2016 as soon as the necessary processes are completed.
For the purposes of informing the public, the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment is expected to launch a wide public information campaign for the Rural Development Program, while for the same purpose a special event will be held.
Regarding the institution of agricultural insurance today, the reorganization and the necessary modernization of the existing Agricultural Insurance Plan promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment through a comprehensive plan, for which a public consultation will be held, were discussed.
Finally, today's session also dealt with the course of the file for the registration of halloumi, the issue of state sponsorship of agricultural organizations, information was paid on the payment of hectares and capital and the issue of rents of halitiki and t / k lot was discussed.
