Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Cyprus last night at around 8:55 pm, where he will be received by President Nikos Anastasiadis and will meet with Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulidis.
The private plane carrying the Russian Foreign Minister landed at the old Larnaca airport.
Mr. Lavrov was received by the Director of Etiquette Marios Kountouridis and the Ambassador of Russia to Cyprus Stanislav Osatsi.
Immediately after landing, Mr. Lavrov and his entourage headed to Nicosia.
There was a strong police force both inside the airport and in the streets around the airport.
Draconian is the security measures in Nicosia.
