The Municipality of Sotiras decides to invest in alternative forms of tourism, according to statements by Mayor Sotiras.

The Mayor, Mr. George Takkas, after today's meeting he had with officials of the Cyprus Tourism Organization, said that the Savior will make the most of the possibilities and the 16 ecclesiastical monuments at its disposal and that it will soon become an important religious tourism.

Also, the design of Sotira as a tourist destination includes the brand new beach restaurant of Agia Thekla, the renewed beach front, the natural paths and the gastronomic proposals.

The officials of the Cyprus Tourism Organization also showed great interest after the meeting, where they expressed great satisfaction with the rapid steps taken by Sotira and the prospects that open up to attract the tourist flow.

"Our goal, said Mr. Takkas, is to make Sotira an important tourist destination and for this purpose we will cooperate with the surrounding Municipalities and Communities to strengthen our role."
