The forum, which was attended by more than 70 people, was honored by the presence of the President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis as well as senior officials from Cyprus and China. Apart from the members of the Association, representatives of the largest Chinese organizations in the sector also took part in it, who stated that they were excited and ready to put our country in their strategic and investment priorities.
In his greeting at the conference, the President of the Republic referred to the significant progress recorded by the Cypriot economy and to the even more positive prospects that are prescribed. Investment opportunities, President Anastasiadis noted, are found in all productive sectors of the economy, citing real estate, major development projects and energy as examples. Analyzing the significant comparative advantages and the versatility of Cyprus as an investment destination, he highlighted, among other things, the attractive legal and tax system and a number of other parameters, such as quality of life, security and modern infrastructure.
Referring to the excellent relations between the two countries, the President of the Republic assured the businessmen present that the Cypriot government is determined to offer all possible and necessary assistance and support to Chinese investors, inviting them to come to Cyprus to see first hand that the Our country is a great destination to live, invest and prosper. Finally, he announced that the government will work with a private organization in China so that by the end of 2016 there will be 15 different points throughout China where those interested can apply for a visa.
The President of the Pancyprian Association of Land Development and Construction Entrepreneurs, Mr. Pantelis Leptos, who presented at the conference the advantages that Cyprus has and the incentives it offers to foreign real estate buyers and investors, said that the success of the conference exceeded all expectations. "We managed to bring together in the same room the largest organizations in China specializing in the real estate market abroad, in fact at the highest possible level of representation." This, said Mr. Leptos, is a very important success, in which the presence and intervention of the President of the Republic, whom we want to thank publicly, contributed decisively. "We are confident that the great Chinese interest we all saw in the conference will soon translate into action, contributing to the recovery of the industry and the restart of the construction industry, but above all to the state revenue and the effort that our country is making to return to dynamic development ", noted Mr. Leptos.
Afterwards, a brief presentation was made of the situation and prospects presented by the Cypriot real estate market by the Vice President of the Association, Mr. Giannis Misirlis. The event ended with the awarding of honorary diplomas by the President of the Republic to the representatives of Chinese organizations whom the Association thanked for their contribution to the Cypriot economy.
