In his memorial speech, at the annual national memorial of the community hero Pedoulas Aristides Charalambous, Mr. Syllouris said that "our country needs dedication to solve all the problems that arise and with the proper fist to find the solution in our national problem, a solution that is fair, sustainable and functional that will make Cyprus strong, united and free ".

"However," he added, "let us reflect on the kind of struggle we are waging today, so that Cyprus is free again. How do we owe our debt to all those who have been sacrificed? What have we done so far and what is our attitude and development as European citizens? If we want a free Cyprus, the remembrance of the liberation struggle should not be done formally and out of habit, but should remain our personal debt ".

As he stated, "as active citizens, we must be vigilant and ready to manage any challenge that arises and take advantage of the prospects of development and strengthening of Cyprus", to add that "remembering the ideals and values ​​of our heroes, to act and to fight in every way for the survival of Hellenism and the Republic in Cyprus ".

He added that "the future of this place rests on young people and it is important to instill in the new generations the ideal of unconditional freedom and the usefulness and cultivation of critical thinking", noting that critical thinking can contribute to breaking with the trivial and freeing oneself from stereotypes and attitudes that occupy the world ”.

"If we want a better world, a different Cyprus, then we must aim to integrate young people into society and to cultivate citizens.
