The honorary Minister of Defense Mr. Christoforos Fokaidis unveiled the work of art "From Gorgopotamos to El Alamein", by the artist Christos Pitsillos, which is dedicated to the volunteer soldiers of the Municipality of Agia Natis World War.
The ceremony was greeted by the Minister of Defense Christoforos Fokaidis, the Most Venerable Metropolitan of Constantia - Famagusta Mr. Vassilios, the Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Giannis Karousos. the grandson of the landowner Kravvas, from Chalastra, Thessaloniki, who hosted one of the honored volunteer soldiers, Mr. Efstathios Nikolas Pappoullis, Mr. Nikolaos Kravvas, while the creator Mr. Chrissos spoke about his work and his whole philosophy.
Afterwards, the Minister of Defense and the Mayor Mr. Giannis Karousos presented the flags and honorary plaques to the two living soldiers, Antonis Nikolas Kemitzis and Michailis Nikolas Flourentzos as well as posthumous honorary plaques to the families of the other soldiers.
The event was adorned with songs sung by the children of the choir of the Primary School of Ayia Napa - Antonis Tsokkou and with a poem recited by the popular poet Takis Skaros.
