Construction work on the Ayia Napa Marina began on Friday, September 30, with the laying of the foundation stone and is expected to be completed in 2021. The project is worth a total of € 220 million.
Ayia Napa Marina is a mixed-use development that combines residential, commercial and leisure infrastructure in the Ayia Napa area (Agia Thekla - Makronissos) with luxury homes, world-class boating facilities, a number of boutiques and seaside restaurants as well as suggestions.
Specifically, the development will include 190 spacious and luxurious apartments in two impressive revolving towers, 29 luxury villas, a marina with berthing capacity and the provision of integrated services to 600 boats, a shipyard, as well as a number of selected shops and restaurants offering high quality services and restaurants. to the residents and visitors of the Marina.
The project is the fulfillment of the dream and vision of two businessmen, the Cypriot businessman Gerasimos Karamontanis and the Egyptian investor Naguib Sawiris, who joined forces to implement a long-term strategic plan with the aim of setting new standards in the field of coastal development.
The design of the project was undertaken by the world-renowned American architectural firm SmithGroupJJR, which specializes in the construction of coastal works. During the process of construction of the Marina, it is estimated that more than 800 new jobs will be created by contractors and subcontractors, while with its completion, about 200 people will be employed for the operation and management of the project.
The Houses - Towers
The project distinguishes the two impressive towers that are visible both from the land and from the sea. Their height exceeds 100 meters and they are distinguished for their imposingness, welcoming the visitors and residents of the Marina. Their rotating design is inspired by the Caryatids and sculptures that have been found in archeological sites throughout Cyprus, while on their facades there are wooden awnings reminiscent of ship details.
The two buildings have a "T" shape which rotates approximately 1,6 degrees on each floor, from west to east, thus making the most of the panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea, the Marina and the coasts that extend in every direction. The higher floors face east, overlooking the beautiful beaches.
The two buildings have a total of 190 luxury 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedroom apartments, while on the two highest levels of each building there are two penthouses that offer a 360 degree panoramic view. Residents of the three apartments in the radii of the buildings have a 180 degree view. Making full use of one of the most beautiful shores of the Mediterranean, the apartments are uniquely designed ensuring that all their spaces, including the bedrooms, face the sea while their modern open plan design enhances the brightness and the view.
Their external walls consist mainly of 2.8 meters high glass, while the terraces of all areas are covered. The bedrooms have sliding glass doors that extend from the floor to the ceiling, while in the living rooms there are folding glass doors that open to create an extension between the living room and the terrace.
Each tower includes a luxurious penthouse with a higher ceiling than the other apartments and a glass facade of about 3.5 meters. By opening the glass sliding doors, the modern, open-plan, living and dining areas can be extended to the terrace. In addition to an entire bedroom wing, which includes the master bedroom, the penthouses provide an extra room that can be used as a desk, leisure or entertainment room.
The villas
There are 29 luxury holiday villas on the private and safe roads of the peninsula and the artificial island of Marina. Each plot offers a large space for landscaping beautiful gardens. The 11 villas are beautifully located around the artificial bay that will be created, around an artificial beach with fine sand. The other 18 villas overlook the Marina and offer direct access to the docks.
Their architectural line is a modern expression of the new and the old, combining local carved stone around the base with an elegant plaster finish on top. Large areas of glass are positioned to create a breathtaking view around the villas, while the facades provide a warm and at the same time modern color contrast.
All villas have been designed in a modern open layout, so that their main areas face the sea. Large 2.8m high glass doors slide towards the walls, extending the main areas to the terrace and the pool. Each villa includes its own private infinity pool. The bedrooms upstairs also have high-sliding doors that open onto covered terraces with wooden floors, allowing residents to enjoy the Mediterranean breeze and view. On the ground floor there are private gardens and courtyards.
Eleven fully independent 3, 4 and 5 bedroom villas overlooking the beach are located at the western tip of the peninsula, offering residents a luxurious and modern living environment with comfortable interiors, lush gardens and amazing views of the Mediterranean. Each villa has a spacious open-plan living area, built to the highest quality standards.
Twelve villas will be built on an artificial island in the Marina area and six additional villas on the peninsula just behind them. The Marina
The marina will be able to accommodate about 600 yachts. Boats up to 60 meters long can be accommodated in the berths, while by arrangement boats up to 80 meters long can be accommodated. At the same time, a storage facility will be available for boats up to 10 meters long. For boat storage, there will be a high level, fully equipped boat preparation service.
The uniqueness of the Marina lies in the fact that it offers finger style mooring for boats less than 30 meters long while the floating docks provide easy access in all circumstances. The depth of the Marina is between 3.5 and 6.5 meters, thus allowing the hosting of larger sailing boats and yachts, while the specially designed breakwaters ensure comfortable and safe mooring at all hours.
Facilities include comfortable changing rooms with shower and bathrooms, internet access, a specially designed rest room for the crews, a yacht club and a beach club. A few steps below, in Pyare Village, will be a supermarket, shops and restaurants.
The nearby shipyard will offer a wide range of high quality professional services such as hoisting, launching and maintenance of boats.
The Pyare Village Shopping Center
Pyare Village is the shopping center of Marina. It is housed in a semicircular basin reminiscent of an island port and has an impressive waterfront with a pedestrian street. The shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainment options create a lively beach atmosphere and make it an attraction for shopping, dining and entertainment. Its repetitive wavy shape gives the impression of a ship hull.
