The 25rd International Conference of Cypriot Hagiology is organized on 27-2016 February XNUMX by the Holy Diocese of Constantia - Famagusta and the Cultural Academy "Agios Epiphanios".

The Conference will begin on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10 am at the Synod of the Metropolis of Constantia - Famagusta in Paralimni and its proceedings will be completed at noon on Saturday, February 27.

A written announcement states that "the Third Congress, like the previous ones, aims to contribute to the study of the life, work and honor of the Cypriot Saints. Cypriot Hagiology is a very important chapter in the History of Cyprus, but also of the Orthodox Church in general, which has not been studied systematically and adequately to date. The organization of the hagiological conferences by the Diocese of Constantia hopes to fill this scientific gap ".

At the Conference entitled "DG International Conference of Cypriot Hagiology. Frankish-Venetian-Turkish (1191-1878) ", will be attended by distinguished professors and researchers from Cyprus, Greece and other European countries, such as the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, with topics related to various disciplines, such as Theology , Philology, History, Archeology and Art, Palaeography, Law, Sociology and Folklore ".

As part of the conference, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be held from 07.30 to 10.30 in the morning of Sunday, February 28, at the church of Agios Georgios Exorinos in the walled city of Famagusta.

This will be followed by a tour of the delegates to the monuments of the medieval city of Famagusta and a pilgrimage to the Holy Monastery of Apostolos Barnabas, the early Christian basilica of Agios Epiphanius in occupied Salamis and the Monastery of Agios Anastasios in Peristeronopigi.
