The rescue operation of an injured swimmer that took place yesterday, Friday, May 19, 2017 at 18:07, was crowned with success.
The incident
Specifically, the Larnaca KSED had received an urgent emergency call regarding an injured swimmer who dived from a rock in the area of "sea caves" in Cape Greco.
The swimmer was trapped in a sea cave due to adverse weather conditions and high waves, which made his rescue almost impossible from both land and sea.
Immediate mobilization
The KSED immediately mobilized the Police Rescue Helicopter and the EMAK team. At 19:10 the wounded man was pulled from the Helicopter and transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital for treatment. His health condition was considered out of danger and after he was provided with the necessary medical care, he was fired.
