According to the President of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Informatics at TEPAK, Professor Takis Kasparis, "it will not take many years to implement in the health sector in Cyprus tele-ultrasound examinations of patients via satellite connection, using tele-robotics and teleconferencing ".
Professor Kasparis, speaking about the "MARTE" program in which the University of Orleans - France) and the Cyprus University of Technology participate, said that contacts have been made with the Polyclinic Health in Limassol, which has shown interest in telemedicine, especially in an ambulance.
He added that the next phase of the program provides for such an examination to be carried out on an airplane.
