The measures were decided at a special meeting held at the General Staff of the National Guard, under the Minister of Defense, Christoforos Fokaidis, after the recent traffic accidents that resulted in the loss of human lives, including national guards.

The measures include expanding existing routes of the Free National Guard Movement Plan to meet the needs of all national guards. It is noted that the minimum number of 8 soldiers per route is abolished, which was required until today for the execution of a route and in this way it will now be possible to move all the national guards without any restrictions.

It was also decided that the time of arrival of the national guardsmen in the Units is the same as the estimated time of arrival of the permanent executives, ie 7:00 am and at 09:30 on holidays and weekends.

An incentive plan is also being promoted, in cooperation with the companies, with the aim of making the greatest possible use of the national buses by the national guards, as an important measure to prevent road accidents. For example, those using the Free Traffic Plan will be able to extend their arrival time at their units by up to one hour.

In addition to the above, it was decided that the GEEF will seek closer cooperation with the Police, in the field of prevention, as well as in the field of better control. In this context, the organization of informative lectures in camps of the National Guard has already been determined.

It is noted that this year three new Road Safety training programs are already in progress, in addition to the two older ones that are continuing. These programs are the following:

• Road Safety Seminars from the company APA ROAD SAFETY CONSULTANTS, in collaboration with CYTA, with the participation of about 5000 national guards.

• Training seminars by the Road Safety Initiative Group, in which mothers of children and people involved in traffic accidents participate and which have been attended so far by 1500 national guards.

• "MODULE CLOSE TO" from the Foundation for Road Safety "George Mavrikios" which is estimated to be attended by about 2000 soldiers.

• "Alcohol consumption before driving" by the organization "Drink in moderation" and in collaboration with the organization "REACTION", with the participation of about 1000 soldiers.

• "FAETHON - TASOS MITSOPOULOS" which includes questionnaires, assessments, road collision simulations and screenings of educational films, with the participation so far of 1100 national guards.
