As it was announced that Mr. Pitsillidis was cut off from the body of the Church, it is valid until he resurrects, denies his delusions and misconceptions and asks for God's mercy.

It is added that the Synodal Committee concluded on the aphorism, for the misconceptions, the deliberate misinterpretations, the mocking way of referring to the faith, the manners and the traditions and for its immoral behavior towards it and the Holy Synod.

The Synodal Committee calls on Mr. Pitsillidis to consider his responsibilities to God and to people and to bow humbly away from all arrogance and periautology to the teaching of the Gospel and the ethos of the Church, and instead of scandalizing, to provide himself of the model to the faithful.

The Synodal Committee appointed by the Holy Synod on September 3, 2015 consisted of the Archbishops of Paphos, Tamassos, Trimithou, Karpasia and Arsinoe.

At a scheduled meeting at 10.30 in the morning of October 2, she invited Mr. Pitsillidis before her, in order to hear his views live and he to answer her clarifying questions on issues in which deviations from the Orthodox teaching have been pointed out.

As mentioned in the relevant announcement, after a systematic and in-depth study of Mr. Pitsillidis' positions as they were expressed by him and based on the statement that he does not deny and does not change anything from what he has publicly stated from time to time, the Commission concluded that his positions and ethos are clearly contrary to the positions and ethos of the Orthodox Church.

The Commission found that in its positions there were malice, deliberate misinterpretations, ambiguous interpretations and a disparaging way of referring to many issues, such as abortion, Confession, Eucharist, homosexuality and others.

He further adds that Mr. Pitsillidis' behavior was immoral and highly provocative, stating that he stated that he does not recognize any competence in the Commission and that he intends to submit written answers only to the Plenary Session of the Holy Synod.

They also report that for the Holy Synod itself he said that he does not recognize that it represents the Church.

The Synodal Committee calls on the crew of the Church to be deaf to these misconceptions and to remain faithful to the teaching of the Church, to its customs and traditions.

"Any pursuit of anyone, whatever title they hold, and in whatever way it is expressed, should not mislead the faithful and distract them from our missionary faith," the Commission added.

It is noted that the Holy Synod invites the theologian in a letter to the Holy Archdiocese to clarify its positions before a special five-member committee for: Abortions, Eucharist, memorial services, homosexuality, marriage sacrament, fasting.
