The whole issue concerns the dog branch of the Cyprus Police.

They placed drugs among luggage at Larnaca airport during an illegal drug detection exercise with specially trained dogs, which, paradoxically, ended up traveling to Russia.

The drugs were seized by Russian security authorities. The incident was reported to the police leadership and instructions were given to conduct a disciplinary investigation against a member of the force.

However, the fact that the YKAN team based at Larnaca airport was not informed, gives a headache to the police who will wait for the results of the disciplinary investigation and accordingly instructions will be given for more effective cooperation between the involved departments.
