The Municipality of Paralimni in collaboration with the Municipalities of Ayia Napa, Deryneia, Sotiras and Enoros Consulting undertook the implementation of an Action entitled "Integration Measures by local communities / NGOs".

A written announcement states that the goal of the Action is the active integration of Third Country Nationals (YTX) in the socio-economic fabric of the Famagusta District. In particular, the Action concerns the support of the process of integration of YTX in the local society, improving their capacity for social integration, cohesion and socialization, as well as the prevention of social exclusion ".

This Action is added to the announcement "is essentially one of the first successful efforts of the joint implementation of co-financed interventions by the Local Authorities of the Province of Famagusta, confirming the excellent level of cooperation. Contributing to this is also the fact that the programs of the Action will be implemented not only within the administrative boundaries of the four Municipal Authorities, which participate in the corporate scheme, but also regionally, ie in Communities of the Province of Famagusta, with the active support of Union of Free Communities of Famagusta ".

It is noted that "in this direction, intercultural / artistic events, training and education programs will be implemented, with the object of learning computers, first aid, etc., social support program, social orientation programs (history, traditions, etc) including teachers excursions, experiential workshops to develop citizens' sense of acceptance and understanding of diversity, workshops on the exchange of views, good practices and know-how on employment and more.

The action contract was signed on January 25, 2016 by the Mayor of Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis (on behalf of the company) and the Head of the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, Konstantinos Kyprianou.

Eligible to participate in the Action "will be Third-Country Nationals residing and working legally in Cyprus, including Third-country Nationals under refugee or subsidiary protection status, asylum seekers, as well as IDPs resettled or resettled or relocated from another European country. ».

The Action will last until the end of 2016 (with the right to expand for 2017), while its budget amounts to 115 thousand euros and is co-financed by the Asylum, Immigration and Integration Fund (90%) and the Republic of Cyprus (10% ).
