Christos Pappas, who has been missing since October after the Golden Dawn trial, was recently arrested by anti-terrorist men in the area of Zografou.

The fugitive was hosted in an apartment by a 52-year-old woman from Ukraine, who has become a naturalized Greek and was a candidate with the Golden Dawn in Athens. The woman was also arrested.

After his arrest, Pappas was taken to the detention center on the 12th floor of the General Police Directorate of Attica, together with the 52-year-old who will face charges of foster care.

Tomorrow he will be taken to the prosecutor for the execution of sentences and then to the Domokou prison.

It is recalled that the 59-year-old deputy leader of the Golden Dawn has been sentenced by the three-member Criminal Court of Appeals to 13 years in prison for directing a criminal organization.

The information about the location of Christos Pappas reached the police a few days ago. It is probable that he was there all the time he remained wanted.

The following statement was issued by the police:

"Tonight, Thursday, July 1, 2021, the 59-year-old local was arrested in Athens by the Counter-Terrorism Service (D.A.E.E.B.) prosecuted by a conviction, which had imposed a sentence of 11 years and 9 months in prison.

The arrested person will be brought before the Appellate Prosecutor for the execution of his sentence, tomorrow morning.

A 52-year-old native was arrested with him, who was taking care of him at her home and will be brought before the Athens Public Prosecutor for violation of article 169A of the Penal Code ".

The former MP had disappeared a few hours after his appearance at the Papagou Police Station in October, where he gave the "present" in the context of restrictive conditions. Police initially searched for Pappas at his home in Holargos, where his relatives were, but not himself.

According to information from protothema.gr, the last time police officers saw Christos Pappas was on October 10, when he went out and then returned to his house in Papagou.

It is noted that October 10 was three days after the court announced that Golden Dawn is a criminal organization.
