A place in the Guinness Book of Records is claimed by "Melomakarono" of Paramythia. It was baked in a special oven, presented in the town square and tasted by young and old. In a festive atmosphere, with dancing and Santa Claus setting the tone, the event aimed to honor the "art" of bakery in Epirus.

The Municipality of Paramythia, in an inventive way, combined the Christmas events, by claiming a Guinness record as "melomakarono" is the largest in Greece. For its creation, as it was written next to the big table of the presentation, 35 kilos of flour, 6,5 kilos of sugar, 18,5 kilos of oil and 6,5 kilos of orange, 20 kilos of syrup were needed…

It also took a very good mood, passion and love, while those who were in the square of Paramythia talk about delicious enjoyment.

The mayor of Souli, Giannis Karagiannis, wished everyone, emphasizing, among other things, that in the world and especially in the children "we must offer as much as we can to enjoy carefree and beautiful holidays, in a difficult period for the whole country. To offer moments of joy and hope, for a future more carefree and more innocent, as our own children live with their innocence ".
