The decision of a group of students to parade on October 28 in New Philadelphia, representing the theatrical number of Monty Python, from the play "Monty Python's Flying Circus" from 1970, has provoked strong reactions.

This parade provoked the angry reaction of the mayor of N. Philadelphia - N. Chalkidona, Giannis Vourou, who through the official page of the municipal party "New Philadelphia - New Chalkidona Citizens State" verbally attacked the students.

In particular, the mayor and well-known actress spoke in his announcement about "ridiculous subjects", while he pointed out that "the identification of these pathetic young girls has already begun, as the Municipality is obliged to fully defend its dignity."

The announcement of Giannis Vouros is as follows:

"Unfortunately, yesterday's majestic anniversary of October 28 in our Municipality, N. Philadelphia - N. Chalkidona was stigmatized by a small portion of ridiculous subjects mocking and insulting the memory of the fallen in the epic of '40 and even under the roof of the Greek flag. These people, wearing a parade costume, entered from an alley on Dhekelia Avenue between the schools of the city that paraded normally. The identification of these pathetic young girls has begun as the Municipality is obliged to fully defend its dignity ".

The satire "Monty Python's Flying Circus" is a sketch that scolded the inefficiency of the state in the 70s. In it, the famous actor John Cleese, starring as a civil servant of the British government, which aims to organize silly walks.

So far, however, no one knows why the kids in New Philadelphia paraded this way.
