Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will announce new measures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic tomorrow, as he announced today at a cabinet meeting.

"As in the first phase, where we took action early on, we must take tougher measures again and more timely than in other European countries in order to prevent the worst, save lives and reduce the pressure on the health system. "Tomorrow I will announce a new one-month action plan," he said, adding that avoiding a global lockdown remains a goal for the Greek government.

At the same time, Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that the areas of Thessaloniki, Larissa and Rodopi pass to "level 4" and the measures will apply to the areas that are "in the red". "As of today, some extraordinary decisions must be made. "Thessaloniki, Rodopi and Larissa are in the red, which means that most functions are suspended, but, I emphasize, retail and school," said the Greek Prime Minister.
