Two dead from fire at FSB offices in the Russian Far East

Two people were killed and one was injured on Friday by a young man identified as a member of a neo-Nazi organization who opened fire on the FSB in Khabarovsk, in the Russian Far East.

The perpetrator broke into the FSB offices at 17:02 (local time, 10:00 Cyprus time) and then killed an FSB agent and a visitor while injuring another, the secret services said in a statement.

The perpetrator was killed, according to the announcement.

"The identity of the criminal has been established: he is a resident of the Khabarovsk region born in 1999. According to information, he belonged to a neo-Nazi organization," the FSB said in another statement, quoted by Russian agencies.

Armed incidents and attacks on law enforcement officials and forces are particularly common in the Russian Caucasus, but rare in the rest of Russia.
