What happens when a forty-nine-year-old working woman decides to leave her husband and daughter behind without telling anyone where she is going or if she will ever return? Harper Reagan leaves Uxbridge to visit her dying father in Stockport. Only her trip to the heart of England will bring her face to face with strange men, a petty bourgeois mother and a series of unpleasant truths. In Harper Regan we watch a woman who, traveling like another Odysseus, will eventually be confronted with the limits of honesty and will attempt to explore the moral dimension of sex and death.
