Data Source and Coverage

The figures for tourist expenditures are derived from the Traveler Survey which is conducted in the departure halls of Larnaca and Paphos airports. Data collection is done through personal interviews using an electronic questionnaire (CAPI method - Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing).

The figures refer to the areas controlled by the State. They do not include travelers arriving and departing illegally through ports and airports in the occupied territory of Cyprus.
