The Minister of Finance Mr. Makis Keravnos today made statements to the journalists after the end of the session of the Council of Ministers. In particular, Mr. Keravnos said the following: "I will start with a pleasant statement regarding rewarding once again the economic policy implemented and followed by our Government. I am referring to the green bond award of the sustainable bond that we issued last April. The organization Global Capital, which annually evaluates these issues, has given the first prize to the bond of the Republic of Cyprus, the 10th bond. This is a major achievement of our economic policy and how we manage public debt."

The Minister of Finance then informed reporters that the Cabinet approved the creation of the e-consultations platform and the regulatory framework governing it and added: "This public consultations platform is the single point of conduct for all public consultations carried out by the public and the wider public sector. The creation of this platform is a measure to improve the regulatory framework, which contributes to the improvement of the rule of law and full transparency, as well as greater participation in day-to-day matters, such as bills and any other action plans prepared by the Ministries. For this purpose, a specific guide has been drawn up".

Mr. Keravnos noted that the public consultation platform is ready and that the competent officials who will manage it have been trained. He pointed out that the platform will contribute to participation and greater transparency regarding the bills and action plans drawn up and implemented by the Government and the various ministries.

To a journalist's question about what is being written about the reformation issue, Mr. Keravnos replied: "On the matter, the President of the Republic has already expressed his positions and opinions. The only concern I have is what we need to do to keep our economy on a good path."

When asked by a journalist if he has any personal desire in the event of a reshuffle, Mr. Keravnos said: "Reshuffle matters are exclusively matters of the competence of the President of the Republic."
