An Austrian living in Australia is accused of receiving the pensions of his late mother for 13 years, receiving about 250.000 euros.

According to the Asbruk prosecutor, the 57-year-old man, who lived in Australia with his mother, did not report her death in 2005 and continued to receive various benefits from German, Swiss and Austrian funds.

He was arrested in Australia and faces up to five years in prison under Austrian law, prosecutors said.
