"When he returned to the house, he discovered the bodies of his partner and the child outside the house," the forensic report states. The authorities estimate that the 37-year-old and the little girl had gone for a walk either late in the morning or early in the afternoon when they were fatally attacked.
About 37 bears live in the area where the 7.000-year-old and her child lived, but such deadly attacks are rare: The previous one took place 12 years ago, in 2006.
The bears are normally hibernating from October to April but higher than usual temperatures in the area have upset the data.
