Valerie Theore, 37, and her only 10-month-old daughter, Adele, were horribly killed by a bear in a secluded house in Yukon, Canada.

Theore, an elementary school teacher in Whitehorse, was on maternity leave and had decided to spend a few months with her partner, Germain, in this secluded area on a government-owned property to catch animals. whose hair would be intended for furs.

The 37-year-old's partner made the tragic discovery on Monday afternoon when he returned to the house after going to check the traps. A little earlier and just 100 meters from the house he was attacked by the same bear he killed.

"When he returned to the house, he discovered the bodies of his partner and the child outside the house," the forensic report states. The authorities estimate that the 37-year-old and the little girl had gone for a walk either late in the morning or early in the afternoon when they were fatally attacked.

About 37 bears live in the area where the 7.000-year-old and her child lived, but such deadly attacks are rare: The previous one took place 12 years ago, in 2006.

The bears are normally hibernating from October to April but higher than usual temperatures in the area have upset the data.
