When they got there, they found the bear around free and in an aggressive mood. In fact, she moved against them, but a dog they had together, tried to attack her, as a result of which they found time, got in the car and left.
They immediately notified the authorities, who arrived at the spot and killed the bear, as if it left the area it would be dangerous for the other residents of the area.
A search later found the remains of Sergey Grigoriyev, whom he had eaten alive, and his dog.
As it became known, the 41-year-old had been persuaded to give his bears (he also had a second one), but such a thing was not possible. The second one he had, he managed to leave, but the only offer he had for the big one was from a "bait station", where the hounds are trained with live prey.
So he decided to keep it, which he paid for with his life.
