One hundred and ten thousand police and gendarmes will mobilize in France on the occasion of the national holiday, tomorrow Saturday, and the final of the World Cup, on Sunday, announced today the French Minister of Interior Gerard Colomb.
"Every effort is being made so that the French can live these festive moments in complete peace despite the (terrorist) threat that remains at a high level," he told a news conference at the ministry.
About 44.000 firefighters will also be mobilized, Colomb added.
"The scope of the mobilization is very large, we can not mobilize more forces than we are mobilizing this weekend," he clarified.
France has been under constant terrorist threat since a wave of jihadist attacks began in January 2015, killing 246 people.
