The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson hinted that the abolition of the quarantine obligation for fully vaccinated Britons who will return from the orange list countries is very likely.

Asked during a visit to a military base in Aldershot about Merkel's statement that European partners should quarantine visitors from Britain because of the Indian Delta variant, Mr Johnson said there was a "real opportunity" to open trips with the double vaccination.

"If you look, we now have over 60% of our population having done the two doses and 83% the first dose, we really get over it now. "The crucial thing is to come and make the second installment," said the British Prime Minister.

However, he stressed that this summer will not be like the previous summers in terms of travel, commenting that "it will be different".

Asked if he will take a vacation abroad this year, he said he neither rules it out nor is it certain, as his summer plans have not yet been formed.
