Drums of regional war are sounding in the Middle East. On Saturday night (13/4), dozens of Iranian military drones took off bound for Israel and are already flying in Iraqi airspace.
Jordan has temporarily closed its airspace due to the "dangerous situation in the Middle East," Al Mamlaka news agency reported.
Israel is "closely monitoring a planned attack" against it by Iran and Tehran's allies in the region, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallad said, without giving details of the threat.
In his announcement, Gallant states that Israelis should follow orders that may be issued by the Israeli military's Homefront Command, which detects incoming missiles or air threats against the country to alert the population and to rush to the shelters.
Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari announced the cancellation of all school trips and events for the next few days and said the armed forces were on high alert.
Announcing the measures on television, Haggari said dozens of fighter jets were in the air as part of a state of alert.
Netanyahu's speech
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the people of Israel, noting that his country is ready for an immediate attack from Iran and will respond in kind.
"Citizens of Israel, in recent years, and even more so in recent weeks, Israel has been preparing for the possibility of a direct attack by Iran," the country's prime minister said in a statement broadcast by video. "Our defense systems have been developed and we are prepared for any scenario, both in defense and attack. The State of Israel is strong, the IDF is strong, the public is strong."
"We appreciate the US standing by Israel, as well as the support of the United Kingdom, France and many other countries," Netanyahu added and emphasized.
“I established a clear principle – whoever hurts us, we will hurt him. We will defend ourselves against any threat and we will do so with calmness and determination."
“I know that you, the citizens of Israel, are also keeping your cool. I urge you to listen to the instructions of the Home Front Command. Together we stand and with God's help, together we will defeat all our enemies," Netanyahu emphasized.
