Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has been by phone for the past few hours, talking to the leaders of Iran, Tunisia and Malaysia about Donald Trump's intention to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

According to Anadolu news agency, citing presidential sources, Erdogan told Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the Tunisian President and the Malaysian Prime Minister that the US move would "disrupt the Middle East peace process."

Donald Trump is expected to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Wednesday afternoon and has already begun preparations to move the US Embassy there.
