Six arrests for insulting Erdogan

Six people have been arrested in Turkey for insulting the face of President Tayyip Erdogan, according to foreign media.

According to the Anatolian news agency, the six are in custody after the video posts they made on social networks and insulted Tayyip Erdogan 

It was later reported that the indictment concerned "insults against state officials" and that authorities were looking for other suspects. 

In Turkey, insulting the current President is a criminal offense and punishable by up to four years in prison. According to media reports, Tayyip Erdogan has filed about 2,000 cases against individuals, including students, who have attacked him.
