Michelle Lee Light, 44, was arrested Monday (August 26th) at an Alabama traffic light during a roadside check.
The woman has been wanted since last year when her 19-month-old grandson was found dead. Little Jerry Durman was found unconscious while she was watching him.
He was taken to hospital where doctors did everything they could to save him but failed. His grandmother, however, never told them that the child had taken - under unknown circumstances - methadone, so that doctors could give him the appropriate medication.
The child died and an autopsy showed that he had died from an overdose of methadone. The police were looking for his grandmother but in vain. A year later, she was arrested and charged with the death of a child.
